My Story
I was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina and now live in Canada, and stories have followed me through every version of home I’ve known.
I write books about curious children, unusual adventures, and the complicated business of figuring out who we are. Some of my stories are playful and chaotic, filled with runaway siblings, dog detectives, and missing emu eggs. Others explore identity, freedom, friendship, and the feeling of not quite fitting into the world around you.
I love museums, old cities, history, and people-watching — especially while traveling somewhere sunny. Many of the ideas for my books begin as small questions that refuse to leave me alone.
